Through the pillars to the left can be seen the Great Cascade and to the right the Witch House - contrasting classical virtue with pagan ritual

 

Charcoal Burner's camp in an old diorite quarry. 

In 2006 the production of charcoal was still a valuable by product of Hestercombe's woodland management
