Rotary Club of Great Missenden
Larder Trophy and Charity Golf 2005
Wednesday, 13 July 2005

The trophy is in memory of our club member, John Larder. He was a keen golfer.

This year, besides the Larder trophy game for Rotarians and spouses of Great Missenden Club,  a fund raising competition for the Amersham based Toybox Charity was added. The charity helps 'street children' in Central America. We were able to donate a cheque for £500.

  • It was a very hot afternoon, something like 30C+.
  • 24 golfers took part, which included 6 Rotarians from Great Missenden.
  • The Larder Trophy was won once again by Peter Hook with 32 stapleford points.
  • The Charity event was won by Team Carter (Gary Carter and Ron Pritchard) with Team Holdsworth runners up.
  • The ladies prize was won by Evelyn Griffiths and the mens highest score was 34 points by Peter Spring who partnered Rotarian Chris Marsh of the Chesham Rotary Club.
  • Nearest the pin was George Holdsworth and the only other Rotary success was the longest drive by Paul McDowell.
